The Oaș Dowry Festival

Starting with 1998, Negrești-Oaș celebrated its existence annually. In 2014 the local authorities decided to name the event The Oaș Dowry Festival which marks the celebration of the cultural and ethno-folkloric heritage of The land of Oaș.

The event takes place every year in August when thousands of locals living abroad return home for the summer holiday. The event marks a perfect opportunity for families’ and friends’ reunions, along with the celebration of traditions in the area, through workshops, craft fairs, art exhibitions, folk and contemporary music concerts.
